Boomtec Industry's project at Jinmei Zhongneng recovers heat from low-pressure flash steam in a coal-gasification black-water flash system. The project uses a 1 MW magnetic-levitation Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system to convert this low-grade heat into electricity.

The flash steam transfers heat to a separate ORC working-fluid circuit through heat-exchange equipment. The heated working fluid expands through the maglev turboexpander-generator, then passes through a condenser and pump before returning to the heating section. This arrangement recovers heat indirectly rather than sending the process steam through the ORC expander.

Boomtec Industry's June 24, 2026 announcement reported that the system completed commissioning and connected to the grid on June 12, 2026. The project provides a reference for recovering heat from low-pressure flash steam in chemical processing.

For a similar application, assessment should consider the available steam conditions, flow variation, cooling utilities, annual operating hours and plant integration requirements. Final equipment selection, performance and supply scope are defined for the individual project.
